The Institute for Folklore Studies of the Germans of Eastern Europe (IVDE) changed its name on April 1, 2025. It now operates under the name Institute for Cultural Analysis of the Germans of Eastern Europe (IKDE). The IKDE documents and analyzes the historical and contemporary popular and everyday culture of Germans in and from Eastern, East Central, and Southeastern Europe, including interethnic and intercultural aspects.
